Her inspirations were “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “She’s the Man,” so you’re in for a delightfully twisted romance. I smile as I listen to this one because it’s so charming and the characters are so lovable. I highly recommend listening to this one, because the English accent can’t be beat. As you can tell, setting is everything to me when it comes to books! I fell in love with Major Pettigrew on page one. ![]() ![]() This one is set in a quaint village in the English countryside. Major Pettigrew’s Last Stand by Helen Simonson This one is perfect if you want to step a little outside of the “everything is butterflies and daisies” box. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny HanĪ fresh romance that reminds me of what it felt like to be sweet sixteen. A sweet, at times cheesy romance, but its perfect. I read this every year and fall for the love story every time.
